The biological meaning of the term adult refers to a human or animal that is one who has fully developed. The human world of adults refer to legal and social concepts. Legally mature means that a person has reached the age of adulthood and is considered autonomous, self-sufficient and accountable. An adult who is legally mature can be described as a major. In the lifespan of a human being adulthood is the time when a person has achieved full intellectual and physical maturation. Many people believe that the age of adulthood begins at age 20 or greater. Mid-life, beginning at about 40 years and is followed by the onset of an ageing process that can last up to 60 years. The beginning of adulthood occurs between the ages of 18 to 30. Mid-life adulthood begins around between the mid-30s and 60s. Late adulthood starts at the middle of 60s. It is the time to complete physical development by the time we reach our early adulthood years (20-40s) but your weight and height could increase slightly. As we enter our early twenties, our physical abilities are at their highest levels. These include muscle strength and speed of reaction.
